I have internet explorer sp1 installed. My problem is every time I download a zip file it automatically downloads it to a temporary folder. It doesnt give me the option to save somewhere else. It only does this for zip files. Is their any option that I can change to stop this. I don't want to use one of those download tools because they suck with broadband.... thx

I'm very uncertain this is the problem, but you can investigate it if you like.

Open Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer). Start, All Programs, Accessories, Windows Explorer

Click on the Tools menu then Folder Options. Next, click on the File Types tab at the top. Scroll down to the bottom to where you se ZIP. Click to highlight ZIP then click on the Advanced button at the bottom. Check "Confirm open after download" at the bottom then hit OK to finalize changes.

If this option is already checked then my suggestion is invalid. So, hope that someone else comes along with a suggestion.

Good luck.

U should be able to set the destination where your zip-files will be stored.
Open winzip.Choose Options-Configuration-Folders.

open folder settings -> file associations, find zip extension and check the box "prompt before download" in the settings for this extension
