If it where me, well first off, you have the hdd on the primary and set as master or set as cs and on the end of the cable. Then alot of programs that burn cd-r on the fly(from the cd-rom straight to the burner) will not burn on the fly if both of them are on the same cable, so I would put the cd-rom as slave on the primary(same cable as the hdd) or set it as cs and put it on the middle connection. Then put the burner and zip drive on the secondary cable, I wouldn't think it would matter which is master or slave. The floppy has its own plug in.

I agree but have a sort of related question, why is it recommended to make the booting drive the primary master? While bored and experimenting, I have booted from others (ie slave drives...) in the past and had no problems other than having to reset the bios.
Anyway, do what he said.

Don't really know besides most people's bios is set to boot from hdd 0 and that way they don't have to go into bios. I used to have a set up where I had 2 hdds each with their own os and I installed them separate from one another(replaced one with the other when installing) and I would go into bios and set to boot from which ever one I wanted after they were both plugged in. That got old real fast so I did the dual boot thing and now I get a prompt when starting the pc which is a lot faster.
