Hi,

I've just "cleaned" my pc using various programs like HJT, SB SAD, Ad-Aware, AVG etc etc and got rid of a lot of spyware and adawre from my computer. There is one however that I can not get rid of. It is a small, red exclaimation mark in the task list that, when I hover over it, it says "Your Computer is Infected". If I click it twice it goes to the PSGuard website. I've done and used everything I can think of to get rid of this and it's not in the msconfig start up list.

I've searched google and no one seems to have the same problem as me!

Any help would be much appreciated!!

Thanks,

Nick

Try a search in your system for Ps Guard and delete whatever you find.

This free trial http://www.ewido.net/en/ should find it. Be sure to update it and run it in safe mode if possible. At the minimum it should show you the path to the file. If you cannot delete it from Safe Mode then download killbox from this site http://www.subratam.org/main/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=19&Itemid=41 and copy the path into it to delete it.

Also, these file are usually hidden so go to control panel>folder option>view tab>tick the box beside "show hidden files and folders">apply >ok to make them visible then unhide them when you are finished.

I have the same problem in a Win 98 System. The Ewido Security system doesn´t work; it is only for win 2000 or XP. How can I get teh path to the file I want to get rid of?
