Just got new computer, partitioned it with Powerquest, 10Gb on C 65Gb on secondary, loaded Autocad, Photoshop etc on secondary drive all working fine, just loaded Poser3 but it when I try to run it I get the out of memory message(everythingelse still works fine). Is this a virtual memory thang or what?

If AutoCad and Photoshop run well then the issue is with Poser 3. Check its preferences to set Memory & Image Cache values.

I think x86 has a good point. If I remember right (I stand to be corrected)
Poser was released circa Win98 era, which makes it DOS based. Did you format your drives in FAT32 or NTFS? I would guess NTFS, and that may be the reason you are having probs. There are several DOS based programs which I run on XP Pro just fine, but anything graphics-based like Poser can get finicky. Try bumping around in Poser and see if the problem is a scratch disk size like Photoshop sets up. You also might try some graphics forums for folks that may be running Poser on NTFS systems. One forum I hang out in is here:
http://forums.about.com/ab-graphicssoft/start?lgnF=ySue Chastain is a pretty savvy graphics artist with a lot of experience, and there are some good folks there.
Good Hunting!

I'd be inclined to agree with x86 and ranchhand - Poser3 is OLD - the most current app is Poser5... I seriously doubt that Poser3 is compatible with XP, it is a 16bit app for one, and, as was pointed out, largely based on DOS code... I think you should consider looking to purchase the upgrade(s)... 90% of all the problems I've seen on PCs running XP is caused by people trying to run ancient applications like WordPerfect 5, or PaintShop Pro 4... as the underlying OS changes, so too must your applications.
