When my computer locks up, I notice that my CPU usage is being maxed out by the ycommon.exe process. From what I've found on the web, ycommon.exe seems to be a Yahoo Messaging process, which I do not use. When I end the ycommon.exe process via the Windows Task Manager, my computer frees up and my AT&T/Yahoo session seems to work just fine. If ycommon.exe is not needed, how do I prevent it from starting up?

Thanks for the reply itguru.
msconfig was one of the first things I checked when this first started, and it wasn't included in the startup. ycommon.exe starts whenever I launch my Yahoo browser, even though the "Sign in to Messenger" option is not selected on the sign in screen. I haven't determined why sometimes ycommon.exe uses almost 100% of my CPU usage and other times it just sits idle. Is it a virus masking itself as ycommon? My Windows Live OneCare and Threatfire both show nothing inappropriate.
