Yahoo /Sbc and Firewall

I was having some problems, I have Yahoo/ sbcglobal.net, I contacted them because I was having script error, they told me to disable the Firewall in XP because the DSL connection I had with Yahoo/sbcglobal.net had a real good firewall, I have never ran a computer without a firewall, although I never use a Credit card over the internet If I can't order over the phone I don't order, no technical information over the internet should I be concerned with having a Firewall with having the modem that sbc provides me with.

Its the newest V. of SBC/Yahoo browser. Using IE or Firefox avoids the issue.

I don't understand what issue are you talking about, do you mean the newest version of sbc yahoo has a bug? I really just want to know if a firewall is needed, I have virus protection on at all times, and the issue that I had is minor or disapeared after reinstalling their software.
