Hello Friends! I'm using Yahoo Messenger. My primary account cannot access the chat rooms. Before this happened, I was able to access yesterday. Someone (chatmates) booted my I.D. out. My question is: how can I avoid being booted? And AT THE SAME TIME, How can I do booting to at least have a fair game :) (This one's just for fun) Thank you very much. Nandy

I would think you need to address this problem to Yahoo! Once I thought I was wrong, now I'm not so sure!

Booting = to send a large amount of information (usually error or echo requests) to a computer, which will flood there yahoo client, forcing them to log off. locker = not sure how it works, but it locks a yahoo account for sometime mic locker = locks the chat room microphone so no one else can use it iggy = a voting type system which will let you steal the mic from someone mic locking (requires group participation) bots = yahoo accounts usually created in the hundreds, these are used to boot someone. You run a booter, which will then load all your bots, then the bots all send messages or errors to one person to flood them. how do you secure your yahoo? Use the latest version of yahoo Use a java version of yahoo Use Chet Simpson's Yahoo Tunnel. (usefull, but he charges, so I think thats garbage to charge for a free program!) Sorry, I won't post links to locations to download booters, as you shouldn't be using them, even if it is for fun.
