Comment: OK...spare me the judgment, I do look at xtube on occasion. Here is my problem. I have recently built a new computer (specs are below). It worked fine for about a month. Then suddenly it started having random crashes and BSOD in both XP and Vista Ultimate. When I would boot back up, Windows would tell me I have recovered from a serious error and when it returned the error report, it suggested my RAM was bad.So, I ran memtest86 on each 1Gig module individually and sure enough, one RAM module was bad. I numbered each one beforehand. I thought problem solved, but I still kept having serious crashes. I installed and reinstalled various OS's and Linux seems to be the most stable now. Well, I had noticed early on that when watching vids in xtube, it caused Xp to lock up tight. Had to hold the power button in to shut it down. So, I rebooted, tried it again, same thing. OK, this is interesting, no other "tube" sites like youtube or google video caused this, just xtube. So, I booted into Vista and tried xtube. I was amazed when it locked up tight! The next time I tried it in Vista, I got a BSOD. Tried again, locked up tight. So, I decided to reformat my hard drive and install Kubuntu linux, the newest 8.04. I decided to try xtube again just to see, and to my amazement, it locked my linux OS up tight! Now on XP and Vista, it locked up whether I was using Explorer or Firefox and in linux, I am using firefox. So, what gives here? What could be wrong with my system that would cause lock-ups in three different OS's? It must be hardware related. Any thoughts? Now, I am not that concerend about looking at xtube, so just spare me the jokes. ;) I just want to know what is going on. I have never seen anything like this problem. Here are my specs: Asus M2N32-SLI deluxe Wireless edition MoBo eVga (nvidia) 8800GTS 320MB graphics card 4 1Gb sticks of Crucial ballistic PC6400 RAM (only 2Gb installed) 400GB WD SATA HDD AMD Athlon X2 6400+ CPU Antec True Power Trio 550W Power supply Lite-On DVD/CD burner The OS's I have used have been 32bit. BTW...I updated my BIOS with a new rev today to see if that helped. It didn't. I have also checked all the BIOS settings.

Reply: (edit)ynnek63, possible you got some sort of Trojan and it triggers with each visit? CAUTION! In case you have a nasty, it also is in system restore and can reinfect. Disable restore & scan (some folks disagree with this). Be aware that a virus and a Trojan are similar, but not the same. Many times, an AV detects one it can't clean , other times, it gets missed entirely. If you need to clean one, Superantispyware can do the job and you can get it free @: http://www.superantispyware.com/ among other places. They have a Vista compatible version if needed. If it turns out that you need to use it, be sure to update prior to running. They just released a new update recently and it changes all the time. Things are in a constant state of flux. Also be aware that a few nasties can survive a format and reinfect a system. That requires a LOT of 'magic words'. HTH. Ed in Texas.

Reply: (edit)Try redtube,p0rnhub,youp0rn..STOP JUDGING ME!!..lol Did you remove the bad ram? Also you said it was a recent build and that it was working for a month then the problem started. Usually within that first month is when I start loading programs, drivers, widgets..yackety smackety. Did you load anything that might have caused some problem. By the sound of it you dont mind reinstalling an os. So you might want to test it out after u install certain things. I once loaded a codec that flipped all my vidoes.// well good luck P.S. It's ok to love yourself...lmao. Sorry I just had to. “I am so clever that sometimes I don't understand a single word of what I am saying.”

Reply: (edit)I don't think it is a trojan, since this is also happening in linux. And it is happening across multiple re-installs of the different OSes. Yes, I have pulled the bad RAM. On my last install of XP, I had just finished the base install, installed the flash player, went to xtube and it locked.

Reply: (edit)I should also clarify that watching xtube is not the only time the system crashes or gives me the BSOD, It does it at other random times. However, when watching an xtube vid, it will ALWAYS lock up. It is easily reproduced.

Reply: (edit)Try a different video adapter driver (older or newer). If you have the option to try a different video adapter, do that.

Reply: (edit)I have the same problem with my MAC G5 and have spent several hours on the phone with Apple. Everything they have tried doesn't help. I also have used Norton Antivirus and MacScan, and they aren't fixing the problem. Apple suggested reinstalling the software, but that means reinstalling lots of programs... Seems strange that no one seems to know how to fix this problem... Kevin
