I have just enabled the Firewall using the Wizard - it said it was successfully set up
There's no indication anywhere (that I can see)that it doing anything
Where do we go to see what it is doing, is there any sort of log file anywhere?

You won't see it "doing" anything, but you can ck if it's running by double clicking the "Network Neighborhood" icon, then it'll show your network connection, where it'll say that your firewall is enabled..
I think Lesley was wanting to see some sort of log of stuff the firewall has blocked.
Sorry i cant help, i would like to know myself..

I found a Security Event log in the Management Console but that seems to have been running since last week when XP was installed - the Firewall wasn't enabled then, so I don't know what that is all about!

Look for a file called pfirewall.log, You have to go through the "Network Connections" to access the log. the location is in the Windows folder. Internet Connection Sharing, Internet Connection Firewall, Discovery and Control, and Network Bridge are not available on Windows XP 64-Bit Edition.

Thanks Roberto
I didn't find pfirewall.log for the simple reason it wasn't enabled!
I've now enabled the log and will see what that does
Doesn't seem much point in having a Firewall if you can't see if it's being effective!

You may have to edit(lower if set to high) either your privacy, or security settings in IE (browser) or if also using ZA, do the same there.
