XP3 on Server2003 won't connect to internet

Specs: Windows XP
I have a new xP Pro Service Pack 3 with static IP wired to our network with Server 2003. It joined the domain, but will not connect to the internet. It also takes a very long time to log on to the network.

I would suspect your issue is the static ip and dns settings. How about posting the results of an ipconfig /all?

Also post what is different about this unit compared to the others not having this issue.

We can try that. I am not usually on site and so I may not be able to get back to it for awhile. However after I left they found that they could ping not only the server (intranet), but also they could ping the internet. So there is something blocking the access through the browser.

This is a brand new lap top computer with XP Pro service pack 3 made by Dell. Other than being brand new, we have quite a few XP Pro computers so I don't know what is different. I am not sure if some of our computers have service pack 3 or just 2. I will have to check that out.

This is quite strange as I have set up many computers on our net work and as soon as each machine joined the domain the internet connection was right there. I am thinking that there must be something in the Server maybe a release on a lease that is blocking the connection, but I am not sure where to look for that.
