Specs: Windows XP
Hi, I have a problem. I am a gamer and I can't avoid to notice that games need twice the RAM for W7. I already have Windows 7 Ultimate, but I don't have a great performance. And I am bugged, because when i go to systemrequirementslab.com, they always tell me I need more RAM because of the STUPID W7. So I have decided to switch back to Windows XP, but I don't know which one is going to perform better. Here is my hardware configuration:

AMD Athlon-II M320 2.10 GHz
2GB of RAM

So please, I need help. And remember:
1. I am a gamer so I need as best performance as I can get.
2. I don't just have games in my computer. I also have Avast Antivirus 4.8 and all kinds of stuff.

P.S. Also, I need to know this because there isn't XP SP3 x64, only XP SP2 x64, and for the SP2 x64,I read on Microsoft, they end support of this OS in 2014.

There is x32 and x64. Don't bother with xp x64 with 2gig of ram. Install xp x32

x64 addresses more than 4gig of memory wheres x32 can only address up to 4gig of ram. My win7 box runs 6gig of ram and gaming screams.

Answers are only as good as the information you provide.

When running 32 bit applications a 32 bit OS will almost always perform better than a 64 bit. You will also avoid the potential software and hardware incompatibility issues with 64 bit XP.

Your performance problems may not be due to Windows 7.
