When I tell the computer to shut down (turn off) everything goes thru the moves and shuts down except that it doesn't fully shut down and then it won't wake up unless I hit the reboot button and then it comes back up from scratch.
Any idea's on this problem?
I'm also having problems with my Lexmark Z22 inkjet printer. It starts out printing ok, then gets lock up. The computer say's it's not commuticating. Some times it will print a test page ok. It seems to talk enough to start some printing. I went to the site and installed the XP drivers. Same thing happened. Then I tried generic drivers that they offered at the same site. Same thing happened with better results. I got a page printed from my Hotmail Inbox. But when I thought it was fixxed and tried to align the cartridges it lock up again.
Any idea's on this one?
Thanks for your help.

Hi Craig.
Is your printer a parallel printer connected through a Zip Drive or scanner?
Try connecting it directly to the parallel port on your computer.
My Canon would print 1 page of text OK, but anything longer than that or a photo would be split up into 3 sheets of paper. A photo printed with the top 1/3 on one sheet, the middle on a 2nd sheet, and the bottom on a 3rd sheet.
I had the printer connected to the Zip Drive.
I connected it directly to the computer and everything was fixed.
I bought myself a USB Zip Drive to replace the 5-1/2 year old parallel Zip Drive.
Also - Make sure bidirectional support is enabled. While the printer is printing, this allows the printer to send info to the computer and the computer to send info to the printer at the same time.Start
Control Panel
View Installed Printersright click on printer icon
Properties
Portscheckmark - Enable bidirectional support
Apply
OKreboot computer
Take care,
Callisto
