hi all , hope someone can help me , the problem is a mass storage card reader , i have 2 pc's in the home , mine and the kids , both running windows xp pr0 with service packs 1 + 2 , on my pc if i plug the card reader into the usb slot it says found mass storage reader and then i get the box asking for the software disk , but this doesnt have anything on it for win xp as it states that it shall find and install on its own , now on the kids pc i plug the same card reader in and hey presto win xp finds and installs it without asking for the software disk , so can anyone help me solve the problem on my pc so it will automatically install the card reader. many thanks dave

hi have you tried going to the manufacturer of the usb devices website to see if you can download a driver. can you find on on support.microsoft.om and is usb enabled in your bios?? apologies not to be more helpful

hi , all my usb ports are working fine they just ask for the driver disk when they shouldnt , but never got any disk with my card reader as it states i dont need it for xp , but for some reason my xp is asking for them. many thanks dave
