xp won't load in safe mode

I also can't get windows xp to even run from the disk. It ask to repair or load xp and I have done both.Thanks

Then we ought to assume a hardware issue (or even the xp disk). Anything at this point could be suspect. Might start with a simple memtest. Playing to the angels Les Paul (1915-2009)

How do I get to a memtest? The computer won't let me even rebooot passed the screen that comes up to start in safe mode, and start normal. Thanks
