Hello, and thank you for your time. First of all, specs.
ASUS A7N8X DeluxePCB2.0
AMD XP 2500+ Barton
1X Corsair 2700 DDR 256 MB
Maxtor Diamond Series 60 GB HD (also tested w/Samsung 20 GB HD)
LCT 380 watt PSU
nVIDIA GeForce 4 MX 440 PCI Video cardMy query lies in the state of how Windows XP would not boot past the loading screen, where it is interrupted within a fraction of a second the loading strarts by a flicker of a blue screen error and reboot. The first time I got this mb, I did a clean install and everything worked fine. The next day, the computer would not boot (the above error; I can recall one time where thye keyboard fell on the mb while the computer was running). I tried reinstalling windows xp, but the setup is interrupted with a blue screen error towards the end of the procedure. I have tried safe mode, but the efforts were futile, where while loading drivers, it would stop at Mup.sys, flicker a blue screen error, and then reboot. I installed Windows XP on a different computer with the same hard drive, and tried to connect the hard drive, hoping the OS would boot. Fruitless effort once again. I then RMAed my CPU (AMD XP 2500+ Barton) and MB, and tried again. The same thing would happen. I have come to the conclusion that it may be the Memory stick (Corsair DDR 256 2700), PSU (380 wats), or incompatible drivers in Windows XP that the nForce2 SPP(Ultra 400) chipset rejects. What can I do so that I do not further spend more money and time? Thank you, and have a nice day!

I did a lookup on yahoo and this is one of the results:

It suggests taking your PCI cards out one-by-one and seeing if it will boot. Also try taking out cd-rom(s).
Good Luck!
