XP Wont Boot

Xp wont boot. Post check is fine Bios recognizis the HDD but boot stalls where it should be checking the mbr and just stops cold. wont boot to last known good, wont boot to safe mode, and wont reload windows from a disk and wont let me in with a 98 startup disc... Im lost

Boot from your XP CD and go to the repair console. When there Fixboot and Fixmbr is the two commands you should start with. That will fix the boot sector of your drive and you should be able to boot. Good luck.

Make sure the bios is set to boot from diskette drive first.If you can boot from a boot disk get the manufacturer's diagnostics boot diskette and test the hard drive.You can detect a drive in the bios but you may still have a problem with the drive.Good luck.
