Comment: My XP won't boot up. It starts booting for about ten seconds then stops. All I I see is a blank screen and a flashing cursor in the upper left hand corner. I recently moved my computer from my office to my home. It was working fine before I took it out of the office. Any suggestions would be appreciated. jrezell

Reply: (edit)You may have jarred something loose in the move. Unplug the unit before you open it up, and ground yourself before going inside. Check and reseat all the cards and connections.

Reply: (edit)Actually only reseat the hard drive cable on the drive and mainboard being careful not to jar anything else. Just by touching the metal frame of the pc when not plugged in will equalize any static so you don't damage the electronic components. Imagine the power if you knew how to internet search
