My VPR Matrix wont boot up. Ive tried all of the options including safe mode. The computer just restarts and goes back to the list of options. I have downloaded the 6 floppys of chkdsk on my other computer and tried to run them. When I press "r" to try to fix xp, the blue sceen comes up and I cant do anything. I also tried to run my restore disks that came with the computer and again I get the blue screen and lock up. I have called the customer tech line and they dont have any other options for me other then wiping it out and trying to save my info first. I just cant get any programs to run, xp just locks up with the blue screen. Any other options to try? Thanks, CHEETAH

hmmm apart from the blue screen what else comes up? your message isn't really clear enough? is it a light blue screen and no writing? or a dark blue screen with lots of white writing? there will be a error message and a number along there somewhere. write that number down then look on the microsoft website, and it should tell you how to fix the problem.

When you boot, go into your bios, usually the delete key on post.

Set your system to default settings, or failsafe settings, save exit and see if you can boot.

If not go back to bios again and set your boot order to boot to cdrom first.then hardrive.

Put your xp disk in and reboot and it should follow along to the install and let you do a repair. Dont use recovery console.

This way you wont lose anything.

If you still cant do this, use an old windows 98 or me disk to boot with.Once you get in to the screen that says "boot with cdrom support" choose that and put your xp pro disk back in.

Then you can do the repair from there.

Good Luck

I can boot to my restore cd but once it loads and looks like its going to run, the blue screen comes up and stops everything. Dark blue screen with writing. It says "a problem has been detected" etc. and it gives a path. Ive seen several different ones. After a bunch of usless instructions, the word "stop" and a long code of 00000000 and number in (). I cant do anything. CHEETAH.

What was the last thing you changed before it didn't work? Blue screens are usually caused by application or device failures. Also, check to verify that all fans work (cpu fan, case fan, and power supply fan). If any are not working then replace and see if you can boot up. Start with removing the last program you installed right before this problem or hardware component and/or driver.
