LOG ON SCREEN will not allow access to administrator (or anyone)- will not accept passwords
local policy does not allow me to log on interactively
How can i get access to my pc?
Thanks

Hi fender,
Either you locked yourself out or something messed up the Security Policy on your machine.
I've been there & done that, so I know what it's like.
I ended up repair-installing my XP which forced me to reinstall everything on it, but only because I got tired of looking for a solution (didn't look too much, though). There may be ways around this.If you have another computer linked to it, then you might be able to log on remotely from that one. Check the Microsoft site on how to log on remotely.
Let me know if you can boot into a CommandPrompt Mode via the BootMenu !!

This link might be the solution BUT BE WARNED: I do not know what the result will be. For example: I do NOT know whether you will still have access to folders that were protected by access-rights !! Try to find more info on the stuff mentioned in there, before trying the reset!
▫ Reset Secutiy Policies___________________________________________
There may also be a simple Registry-fix for this, but you would need some way of changing a registry-key from the CommandPrompt.IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW, then please post info here.

I have the same issue. Any solutions out there? I suspect a worm has infected my registry.
