This is just friendly help for everyone who wants to find out where their wallpapers are stored (for various purposes, i.e. deleting some of them, or just to find them)
so,
Open up regedit.exe using the start menu Run box, and then navigate down to the following key:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
Then click wallpaperdir at bottom of list. It will display were ur wallpapers r located
from here you can do two things:
1st: you can change where windows xp looks for ur wallpaper (i.e. - C:\Users\~yourusername~\My Documents\My Pictures)
or
2nd: you can copy the location of wallpaper from the box (which will most likely say "%SystemRoot%\Web\Wallpaper"
then open windows explorer and paste the address it gives u into the address bar.all of ur wallpapers should then show up, except the default ones under C:\WINDOWS
which can be easily deleted

The registry value for wallpaper is
%SystemRoot%\Web\Wallpaper
on my XP Pro SP3. But the images there do not include my netscape wallpaper.Charley
