Windows XP rtm 2600 or Windows MEMy question is which OS will allow games to load faster, run smoother, and give me the maximum frames per second? Should I stay with XP or switch back to ME and deal with the occasional crashes. etc. Thanks a bunch

Do you want to be one of those who has to write questions about problems to this forum hoping to get an answer or do you want to spend your time to play games with your operating system? One only has to look at this forum and ask yourself is it really worth it to change the operating system.

No, what I want is an answer
a Forum is somewhere to ask questions and get answers
I asked a question
and i'd like an answer

for games you should stay with xp is faster... the only problem is that not all games are supported... if you change the os, think about it you are playing the best game !!!!what happend the comp stop runingĦĦĦĦ ohhh come on that a lot of crap
Stick with XP

You can also try compatibility mode just right click the main executable goto properties and select the os that the game ran fine in b4. game creators are relesing patches for xp!

i would say it does not only come down to which OS, but which file system u use.
FAT32 is faster, but degrades and is less reliable
NTFS is slower but more stable and secure...
i would say that at moment u should stick with ME and FAT32(obviously) if u want ultimate perfomance and best drivers for cards etc..

The best OS for games, hands down, is Win98se. For years to come, it will also support the widest universe of apps and devices. For that matter, even Win95B is better in those areas than ME or XP.
Windoze ME was interim crippleware designed for conditioning OEM's and users for the less compatible NT6 (XP).
Using OEM's as whips, M$FT wants to switch you into a more secure boxcar. Oh, and this time your machine is branded into the OS.
Don't fall behind now.
