im a newbie to vpn's so any infomaiton you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
what i am wondering is, is it possable to create a VPN just between windows xp PCs? i have windows xp pro with a solid 10Mbps connection, and all the the clients have highspeed greater than 2Mbps. would it be possable to have the client PCs connect to my PC (I have the Fastest upload) and have shared folders and mapped drives that would be private and secure? if this is possable, how do i do it? is it possbale to have this done solely on windows xp without haveing to purchase a separate server?i have a WRT54GS router that i am behind, but the other clients are connected to the internet without a firewall.

You really need firewalls on and always. It goes against the whole secure part of your question.
VPN's are for special uses. They offer a type of protected link for file and some other uses.
It does not cheat the laws of networking. You can't move more that the least part can.
As above you can also look into barracudadrive for a type of secure file access.I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.
