System: 664 Mh Celeron with 256 MB Ram. A 13 Gig drive about half full. Windows XP Prof.. ver 2002.
Problem: I keep getting Virtual memory minimum too low warning, and the system locks or freezes. I have to reboot. This if I just turn on the computer & let it sit for a few hours. I had Windows system-manage the paging file, and it sets it at 381 MB. I have custom set the initial and max paging file at 381 for both, and at 381 and 512 respectively. Still get the problem. I deleted Winamp and do not use Kazaa. Help?!

Try cleaning out the temporary internet files in Internet Explorer, and clear the history too. All those old internet pages might be loading into memory.

I get the same message whilst playing Unreal Tournament (UT). It quits out of UT too......i have 784meg of space left on c....could this be the reason?

Is there a single partition? If you have another partition or HD, go back to virtual memory configuration and change the drive where you have more free space.

I've cleaned out the temp internet files. Also, there's only one drive. I also deleted the page file, defragmented, and then reset the page file. Same problem. I have noticed from the task manager performance section that my PF Usage slowly but steadily continues to creep up while the computer's on even though no application is open, till the computer freezes. Also I see no apps in the processes using memory other than routine windows system files.

Cicero comp. 2Gh 512Mb mem. Win Xp Pro
Tried all kinds of settings for the swap and nevertheless computer still hangs when left idle for some time. With a large swap, comp. becomes sluggish and slow - swap at 1G, computer is fast acting but still plague with these hang ups. ?????????????
Maybe twice a day now. Whish I could find a turnaround.
Phil

I get the same problems -- but not from idling. I get it from using memory intensive games.....
System should be able to handle the stuff EASILY (Athlon XP 1500, 256 MB DDR Ram)
Help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Same problem
mine occured when i networked my desktop to my laptop, both running xp
never had a problem prior to this
