Hi,

I am problems with low virtual memory with XP. How many MB should the VR memory be set at? There seems to be alot of programs running in the task manager. How many background programs are normally running in XP?

Thanks,
Aaron

Get hold of the free Reg.cleaner from:

http://www.vtoy.fi/jv16/shtml/software.shtml

Under the 'startup' tab, remove all background programmes that are not required.

If in doubt, cross reference with the list at:

On window's xp needs at least 128 to run but 512 will make very happy. On the virtual memory the rule is pretty much one and a half time of the phyical memory that is installed,so in the case of 512 of phyical ram, virtual would be 512+250 which would be 730 there abouts.Good luck
