You shouldn't run into any problems at all unless you have unsuported hardware. Clean install is the ideal way to go. Just make sure you CDRom and computer can boot bootable CD's (Win XP cd is bootable) and that it's set in your computers BIOS to boot from yuor CDRom.

Hi,
Well, if you already have Win98 or Win2k installed. What you need to do is run your WinXP from there, and the promp will comeup and ask you if you want to upgrade or Fresh install, just pick fresh install. ( NOTE: 1 partition for 1 OS) Run the installation and pick your partition and remember to have it convert to NTFS. Then go on from there. Remember to rename your partition b4 you do any installation, reason: that will help you so you know where your OS goes. For example: If I want to install WinXP in one of my parttition, i will name that partition to "WinXPOS" so I know where the hedddd my WinXP OS goes.
Good Luck,

I agree with Fred. I've been using Fat32 for multiple reasons. If the person doesn't like it they can always convert it later.

Also, I'm under the understanding that certain games/programs don't like NTFS. As pointed out above, if you need to, you can always convert it to NTFS later.
