i've been having a lot of problems with xp ("error loading operating system","operating system not found") things like that. i was thinking of just formatting and going back to windows me until i can get a newer computer.
to do this, would i use an xp or me boot disk to format the drive? and do i make it back to fat32 instead of ntfs? thanks.

nunyabiznaz, either should be able to do the job. Which to use depends on which OS you plan to use. ME uses FAT32 while XP uses NTFS and the two don't play well together. One can't read the other's stuff.
HTH.
Ed in Texas.

ME can't use NTFS - FAT32 is recommended. XP is not restricted to NTFS, it can use either
These errors are most likely due to hardware problems - ME may or may not be an improvement, although XP is rumoured to be a bit less tolerant of RAM quality than older OSes.
ME certainly has lower system requirements
We've heard that a million monkeys at a million keyboards could produce the complete works of Shakespeare; now, thanks to the Internet, we know that is not true

I've had terrible luck with ME, even though XP runs slower on my 1.1ghz machine and gets close to using all of the ram, XP is much more stable for me.

I'm still trying to figure out your PII
1.1 ghz....
I have PIII 1.0 ghz and XP runs fine.
You probably just need more ram if you
don't have 512MB.

Actuall XP can use FAT16 as well......
KILLDISK www.killdisk.com will totally zero the drive and the ME CD is bootable anyway, really a ME install question and LoL there is a ME Fourm.
