OK it wouldn't let me post a follow up to someone's original message, so here's their original question:
>When I minimize any programs I am using,
>they are not displayed on the taskbar
>as they should be, no grouping or
>anything>Thanks in advance for any help
> Ted
I've never seen so many problems with a task bar.....The guy who responded to Ted said to unclick the "Group Similar Items" in the Taskbar properties and if that doesn't work, "just fiddle around with the other options". Well I've fiddled so long my fingers are raw!
Anyway I have the same problem. Messing with any/all the taskbar properties does nothing.
Some programs appear in the taskbar after launch...some don't(e.g. IE6). If you minimize the window, there's no other way to retrieve it except doing an ALT/TAB. The icon appears there.
Confusing.
Don't we all just love XP?

See if this helps .
The Case of the Missing Taskbar
The taskbar is at the heart of the Windows XP interface, but sometimes it turns up missing. This usually indicates that the settings for your user account are corrupted. But what do you do to get it back? Check out KB article 318027 to solve this one, here:
