system restore you mean?
system restore does not cause you to lose data

you can put all the data you want to save on another hard drive, burn it all onto separate data disk cd-r's, or some xp system recovery programs like the one i have allow you to restore the factory settings and programs without deleting items or programs that you have put onto the system.

now i cant access system restore!!! i tried installing fedora core 1 linux and it screwed up my system restore drive!! HEEELLLLP!!!!
