I have recently done a fresh install of win xpfrom a formatted drive works fine
the only thing is every time i turn power on it does not boot straight into windows but a black screen like a dos type screen comes up first and gives me the option of starting (windows xp proffesional) which is highlighted and underneath it says starting windows in 30 seconds and does a count down
i can start it quicker just by pressing enter and it bypasses this its not a major problem but its wreckin me ed please elp tarr

simple one - Control panel > System > Advanced tab > System Recovery then tick 'time to display list of operating systems'. Set this value to 1 and hey presto your 30 second delay is down to just one second,

hope this is useful
