I've messed my laptop up and i don't know how to fix it! I can't get into XP at all not even in Safe mode etc! I decided to change the boot screen and to do this u need to go into safe mode. I copied the file across like i've done before rebooted and i got this error and it its in a continous loop and i can't get out of it! The following error appears

Stop: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The session manager initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000263 (0x00000000 0x00000000).
The system has been shut down.

I've tried all the options when i press F8 but no luck. The only one that looks hopeful is "Directory Services Restore Mode (Windows Domain controllers only)" as it goes into the blue XP style screen checks the HDD but stills comes up with this error! I dont i want to reinstall my OS as i have valuable data on there and for the fact i dont have the Windows XP CD as Sony rn't that kind! All i have is 4 recovery CDs but i can't even get them working!

Please please Help me!

p.s. i've searched through a lot of other relevant stuff to do with my error but nothing really helps!

I had the same problem when, after installing SP1 for XP, I restored the ntoskrnl.exe in WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 from the original CD.
The Solution was to boot from the original installation CD and select the Recover option.
That brings you in a command mode screen where you can play around using DOS like commands.
Hopefully I was whise enough to keep a copy of the ntoskrnl.exe, so I restore it, rebooted and everything wend OK!
