I have Maxtor 4D040H2 IDE\DISMAXTOR_4D040H2______DAH017K on my PC.Please let me know can I use XP SP3 installation CD with SATA drivers, to reinstall Windows . Is my HD compatible wirh a/m installation CD.

If it's a PATA/IDE hard drive, why are you concerned about SATA drivers?

Sata Drivers are already integrated in XP SP3 installation CD. I am asking can I use this CD to reinstall XP SP3 on my actual HD , or bicouse of possible driver conflicts, this is impossible.

Yes you can use an intregrated CD, XP will only utilise the drivers relevent to your hardware.....
