i have already posted something about this but my problem has not been fixed so i shall post it up one more time.
i installed xp sp2 restarted it only to have it boot to a black screen with this writing,
0000232c
0000233b
0000234eIf I hit any key it just restarts again and goes to that. I cannot get to safemode because whenever i hit f8 it just brings up what i want to boot from first (cd,floppy ect)and i cant wait any longer to press f8 because if i press it later the stupid screen pops up and if i press any button it restarts. I have also tried to uninstall it by using the windows cd
instructions here: http://win-xp-sp.blogspot.com
but when i get to this step
9. At the C:\WINDOWS prompt, type: cd $ntservicepackuninstall$.
Press the ENTER key.and i press enter it just tells me to type help for proper commands. I dont think i can reinstall windows because it will delete all my folders which i do not wish to do. IS THERE ANY OTHER WAY

U should do a repair install of windows xp.
Boot the computer using the XP CD. You may need to change the boot order in the system BIOS so the CD boots before the hard drive. Check your system documentation for steps to access the BIOS and change the boot order.
When you see the "Welcome To Setup" screen, you will see the options below
This portion of the Setup program prepares Microsoft
Windows XP to run on your computer:To setup Windows XP now, press ENTER.
To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R.
To quit Setup without installing Windows XP, press F3.
Press Enter to start the Windows Setup. To Repair Install, press ENTERdo not choose "To repair a Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, press R", (you Do Not want to load Recovery Console). I repeat, do not choose "To repair a Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, press R".
Accept the License Agreement and Windows will search for existing Windows installations.
Select the XP installation you want to repair from the list and press R to start the repair. If Repair is not one of the options, read this
Setup will copy the necessary files to the hard drive and reboot. Do not press any key to boot from CD when the message appears. Setup will continue as if it were doing a clean install, but your applications and settings will remain intact.Hope that fixes ur problem. Good luck!
