I have 10 identical systems except for VGA:
TUSL2-C, Tualatin 1200 CPU, SOund, VGA etc.
Same sound card, Same HDD.I installed WinXP and detonator 6x.xx (for TNT2). I then imaged them to other HDDs and now when I try to load windows on other systems it crashes. never shows the Windows logo. Safe mode stops loading drivers at AGP440.sys
I disabled this driver from booting... no help. Do I really need to install Windows XP on 15 Identical computers 15 times ?!!!Windows 2000 Was so much easier...

If they are not identicle...down to the last detail....then with windows XP, you will have to install them 1 at a time or spend time repairing each system.
Also with windows XP there is a major compatability issue. If all the hardware is not on the built in list of accecptable hardware then you will have major issues installing the operating system.
Further issues could be:
1)the use of the upgrade vs. clean installation...the migration of older files and programs into XP requires compatability checks and adjustments.
2)unneccesary installed hardware...you may need to remove hardware as XP prefers the least amount of installed hardware. In The Matters Of Style,

If the VGA is different, why would you make an image with TNT2 drivers installed?

Another possibility is that the AGP440 has successfully loaded & the NEXT driver on the list is the one that's locking the system.
BTW, are you the same person that asked about TNT2 drivers recently? Why did you settle for the old Detonator drivers instead of Forceware 71.89?

Hello,
OK I fixed the problem. I will explain so it might help someone else:
After digging up a lot of websites, I realised that it might be down to the BIOS settings that it works on one PC and not the other. Jam you are right, it probably was the one after agp440.sys that it couldn't load. I searched on the net and did all the steps in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324764
I also disconnected USB mouse but no help.It was a stupid decision I made about detonator installation when all VGA's weren't the same. The reason for v6x.xx instead of 7x.xx is performance. For older cards, series 6 gives better performance than 7 (IMO). I'm not the same person who asked etc...
OK here's what I did on the PC that loaded:
1) remove detonator drivers with detonator R.I.P.
2) restart and make sure there's "!" mark for the TNT2 driver
3) jot down every setting in BIOS of the good computer
4) replicate the drive
5) migrate the replicated drive to new PC and change ALL bios settings to the Good settings.
6) boot and it would boot into windows !I think it was down to the ACPI being disabled by default in the P3 motherboard. I did also change AGP as default VGA, Suspend to RAM = ON, and made sure all USB settings are ON or auto.
Now I have to narrow it down...I suspect it's ACPI but why wouldn't it boot ?!!!
I had Win2000 on these before and it would boot if ACPI was on or OFF.
