Hi.

I installed a new hd some weeks ago. After I had installed it. WinXP is slow to startup(from the welcome screen) and after it has loged on.

I didn't findt the problem, and I had a lot of junk on my machine, so I formated the c: and installed XP again. And everything worked fine. I got Patition Magic7 and opend the program, it said that the new drive was patitioned in 240 something and it should be 255 something. So I moved the info on the new hd and made new patitions. I started up xp again, still everything ok. Then I opend Patition Magic and formated the drive in NTFS and rebooted.

After that I got the same problem as when I Installed the the first time. Any suggestions?

EldARon

(Sorry for my bad english)

Well I don't completely understand why you're messing with partition magic, but for one thing if you put in a new HD that is slower than your original, it will slow the original down to the same speed. So is that a problem? If not check that all your disks are DMA enabled in Device Manager.
