XP shutdown appearance

Comment:
Why has my "shutdown PC" popup suddenly changed to resemble the old win2000 "shutdown PC" popup? (you know-when you hit "start" then "shutdown" that popup box that comes up!) Is there any way to change the look of this on XP Pro? Maybe I in-advertantly changed it. Also, my start menu used to say "turn off pc" at the bottom next to "log off", but now it says "shutdown". Did I change something maybe?

theres some sort of option on XP that I read about when it was first released, in that it is able to emulate older versions of windoze (intended for old hardware and programs) eg to give the look and appearance of 98. Not sure how to reset it though, sorry!

Go to your control panel and open taskbar and start menu. Click on the tab that says start menu. There are two choices at the bottom. Select the one that says "start menu". It should be the first one. This will give you back the xp appearance on your taskbar and menu.
