XP Shut Down

Comment:
I recently put XP on my home computer. Unlike my other computers that shut down fully when I shut down, this machine stops near the end and gives me a message "that I can turn off the computer now," or something similar. Any ideas how I can change this so that it just shuts down all the way? Thanks.

hi right click blank spot on your screen.go to properties then screen saver.go to power you will see tabs on top see if you have APM if you do then go to it and check the box enable advanced power management.if you have no tab for it then i think your power supply doesnt support this. keltik

Just in case! The old AT systems were not capable of turning power off. You need an ATX system to do that.
