I have two computers that I and a hub that i would like to network - currently I have no internet connection at this location. My client computer is running Linux (RH9), but my problem falls with not being able to setup xp pro as the server - as im a *nix man. Can someone give a brief run down of how to setup windows shares on my xp pro box?

I don't know about *nix but things should work with TCP/IP installed on all computers. Right-click on you local LAN connection in WinXP and choose properties, make sure that TCP/IP is checked in the list.
