Windows Xp Media Center setup (running at boot) doesn't recognize my serial ATA hard drives, and I can't seem to get the SATA/RAID Controller drivers (F6 method) to help it see them. I have no operating system right now, because I formatted the drive to get rid of a horrible virus. The BIOS sees the drives, but not the xp setup. Any help would be appreciated.
It doesn't see the drives, even though the BIOS does with no problem. I looked on the motherboard for its identity information, and it says it's an "Intel Desktop Board D945PPR D945GPR". It might be helpful to point out that if I press Enter to continue even when the setup says "Unknown Disk (There is no disk in this drive)" or when I press F3 to exit when I get to this screen, I'll get the following blue screen: "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

You are pulling the driver off the sony vaio cd? Have you consulted the Sony web site?
Are you ready for where Microsoft wants you to go today?

I have an intel D965SS board. On these intel motherboards, in the BIOS you need to change the SATA setting to "IDE Emulation" and not full SATA mode. Go to the intel website for details.
i think the full SATA mode (AHCI) mode works only in vista.
