Itreid to reinstall XP on my laptop but after creating the partition and copying files etc, i get ot he installtion screen and I need file asms from service pack 1. I don't have the service pack but do have a new desktop. I tried to download service pack 1 to burn and putin my laptop but i already have the update pre-installed on my desktop. How can I download or get a ccd copy of service pack 1? Pleae help!

OK, the problem is that the computer i am using already has service pack 1 installed so i cannot download it to burn. I need service pack 1 for my laptop. When i go to microsoft.com downlaod it just searches for new updates. What i need is to get hold of servicepack 1

You will not get SP 1 from Microsoft. As I said in my previous post, go to the link I gave, you it has all the updates that were in sp1...

Sory to be a pain in the arse but my problem is that all the updates are pre-installed on my desktop, i would like to have the original updates to put onto another machine
