I am trying to run a web server on my xp box. Everything seems to work o.k. with the server when accessing it from within my network. When I try to access it from outside I get nothing. When I run the same setup with 98SE everything work fine. Any ideas?

You didn't say how your box connected to the internet. Assuming you have a direct connection and aren't connecting through a router, firewall, or proxy server, check

1 - that your web server's IP address (properties - web site identification) is set to (all assigned), and
2 - your internet connection isn't firewalled (properties - advanced - internet connection firewall). If it is, click on 'advanced' and check the web server box to allow connections.

If you're connecting to the internet through a gateway (router, ICS, etc.), you probably have to configure the gateway machine to route HTTP traffic...
