xp sees 2drives?

hi i just bought a NEC 16X DVDRW ND-3540A and in mycomputer it shows up as 2 drives a dvdrw and a cd rom. I tried uninstalling them both trough device manager but they keep poping up in mycomputer.
also in nero 5.5.9 it doesnt see my drive as a dvd burner or a cd burner

What OS are you running? If it's Xp, then download and run Power Tools TweakUI. Uncheck all the drives YOU KNOW that don't exist. That should resolve the problem.
Where did you get the copy of Nero from? (It's a real old version) Did it come with the burner?
You may need to visit the Nero website to download a copy of their Uninstall program. Then uninstall and re-install it again if you are not able to config the burner within the program.
Lessons learnt the hard way are not easily forgotten.
