XP restarts instead of shutdown

CPU/Ram: p4 2.4ghz

i have recently installed roxio easy cd 6 on my laptop, and ever since the laptop will not switch of, it keeps restarting instead of shutting down.
i have tried rolling back the driver with system restore but the problem is still there, the power management features are all correct. found a web-site which says upgrade the roxio driver but still to no avail . can someone plz help as its driving me nuts
