My computer (Windows XP) is stuck in a restart loop. My Surge Protector got kicked & the power switch got stuck & was flipped on & off 3 times. I finally got turned it back on after those 3 off/on's.
The boot menu does come up (safe mode, safe mode, Last known, etc.) However no matter what option I hit it starts to load XP & then restarts. I took out the hard drive & put into a different computer (to check the power supply) it did the same thing. If it is a bad boot register how can I fix (willing to pay.) Please any suggestions would be VERY helpful. Two years worth of pictures on there w/no back-ups (I know that was stupid.) Thank you for your time everyone.

If you can put it into another computer then slave it to the main drive & get your photos off before you do anything else.
After that, get an XP disk and boot to the recovery console. Run chkdsk /r (takes a long time) - does the trick most of the time.
