Comment:

WinXP will not let me log on. it accepts my password, displays desktop background for a few seconds, then immediately logs me off and boots me back to the welcome screen. This happens for both user/admin accounts as well as when in safe mode too. I believe I may have been infected w/ a worm. My machine is dual boot w/ Win2K Pro so I booted to that OS and virus scanned all partions (Nortons Antivirus). No results. Help, I don't wanna reinstall XP. I also am able to access it across the network, but only shared folders.

hi jt
well the best way to gain access to your system is insert the o/s disk and then when you boot up again it will give you the option to boot from disk click yes then try to go online to www.antivirus.com and look for online scan as nav is crap but its the only popular one out there also use spybot s&d and ad-aware and cwshredder all available from www.spywareinfo.com
cheers ian
