Downloaded spyware stopper and ran into major problems. Have saved all files to external memory through safemode. Tried to reinstall windows but ended up loading 2 OS and messy system.

Want to clean out the entire computer (reformat c:) and then reinstall windows XP and everything else. How do I start ? I tried using "cms" from run and then reformat c: - but did not work. Please help

Reboot with your XP installation CD in the drive. Keep tapping F8 on your keyboard until the message Press any key to boot from CD appears. Press any key and continue through the steps to reformat and install.

You should completely over by first wipeing the HDD through fdisk by typing in format c:
Then you should go to the partition itself and delete it from there.

After all that, then reinstall XP. This will give you a complete new state to work with.

Don't use a weakness, don't change the subject, don't ask the questions if you fear the answer
All I can say, is that my life plain, you may not like my point of views, but that’s ok
