Hey per, look around your garage for a scratched CD and try it. You'll be surprised it will work!

i have a windows xp home edition cd and its really scratched i cant get onto my comp so im in the internet cafe if i can get the files over the net i can copy them onto a cd then reinstall it onto my comp. please help me. no all the files dont install. there was 38 files that wouldn install so i have to skip them files, i kept trying them again and gain but they still didnt work.

There are over 6,000 files in Windows XP installation. Which 38 are you interested in.
How are you going to do an installation with just 38 of the 6,000 files required. You will not get prompted to change disks. Windows expects everything to be on the same disk.
There is a way round it, but is complex and requires you to create a bootable Windows CD which requires a working computer to do it with.
If your CD is scratched try cleaning it. Soap and water can be very effective.
