Comment:

I installed a new Radeon 9600PRO 256mb in my A7V266-E mobo with 250 watt PSU. Ever since I have had, every three days or so, random shutdowns with an error message saying that a Windows32/system/config file is corrupt. I can usually get it going with the recovery console, but lately even this has not been accessible and I have had to format and reinstall XP.
Is it that my PSU is underpowered? Is it a HDD problem? Could it be a virus of some kind (I've been plagued with Backdoor bots recently)? Or is it that my new graphics card is simply incompatible with the mobo?
Any advice gratefully accepted!

Ever wondered what Error(312) means ? Look it up with this, or have it list all the errors your operating system is able to give. Also good for programmers who need to throw a specific system error. Go to Software menu.

===================================

If you want to stop a blue screen auto reboot so you can read the error message from the screen:

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> System
Go to Advanced
Under the Startup and Recovery section, click Settings...
Under System Failure un-check "Automatically restart"

Thanks John, but does anybody have any immediate ideas about what might be the cause of this problem?
