Hi all, My problem is: XP Pro won't shut down PC. I've troubleshooted to this point... I recently purchased a Dell 1901fp 19" flat panel with built in USB 2.0 Hub. When the USB Hub is connected and seen by XP Pro as Generic USB Hub on USB 2.0 Bus, the OS hangs at shutdown. If I unplug the USB Hub from my PC and reboot and shutdown without connecting it, the OS shuts down the PC. If I connect the USB Hub to the PC and shut off the monitor before shut down the PC, the OS shuts down the PC with no problems. Apparently the computer lags when the USB Hub is turned on because even when I simply turn off the monitor, the OS shuts the PC down. I've checked all IRQs and nothing is conflicting. The Generic USB Hub on USB 2.0 bus drivers are from OrangeWare Corp. vers.2.0.9.0. What else can I try? I've downloaded all support available for USB/Shutdown issues from the microsoft knowledgebase. It comes down to that USB Hub staying active or something. Please help.
