Hi

I have a fujitsu siemens laptop running Microsoft XP Home Edition

Without upgrading to Pro is there a way of getting the look of XP Pro. Like when I press control alt delete and it says Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, is there a way of changing this to professional?

Help app.

Richard

I believe there is a way to change the appearance of the welcome screen but it's done at great risk. What's wrong with the way things are now?

Dood, XP Home is sooo not cool. I'd do the same thing if I had Home.

The text is most likely included in compiled code in many places and would be difficult, if not impossible, to change.

For example, you can change the "start" text on the start menu, but it must be 5 characters.

Get a friend with Pro. Hey, you bought Home, right?

Except for bragging rights, most people don't have a need for Pro, though. Why do you want to change it, anyway?

The most likely way for the world to be destroyed, most experts agree, is by accident. That's where we come in; we're computer professionals. We cause accidents.-Nathaniel Borenst
