Xp professional does not connect do

I am using win Xp professional and it is not letting me to connect my network win NT domain,it says acces is denied,when i try to give user id pass & domain name. But if i am using win 98 i can connect to the domain by providing user name and password given by my network administrator. please help me out

Had the same problem, until I ran the 'Network Setup Wizard'(control-network connections). It also happens if I change the name of 1 or my computers, even though I do not change the workgroup, still have to run Network Setup Wizard to gain access to the network (client and/or server).
